What you'll be using on the course...
C#
>
We will write our scripts in the C# programming language.

Visual Studio Code
>
The industry standard code editor, from Microsoft, is open source and free to use. Note this is NOT Microsoft Visual Studio.

FAQs
Perhaps you have some questions...
What is the aim of the course?
>
To give you the building blocks to be able to create your own simulations with live data and performance monitoring. The aim is to give you a solid foundation upon which you can build.
What will we create?
>
We will build a very simple simulator – much as you would make a small pilot project in real life. The simulation will have production, cycle times, transport and performance monitoring. We will build simple 3D models and write C# scripts to implement the logic.
What equipment do I need to take on the course, what is provided?
>
You’ll need a laptop or desktop computer. It’s highly recommended you bring a mouse. You need to install Unity and some assets – you will be provided with some pre-course material detailing what you need to install to be ready.
I have never coded, can I do this?
>
Yes! C# is an easy language to learn, and Unity keeps the coding to a minimum.
What group sizes do we work in?
>
Ideally, you will work in pairs. If you are confident, then working alone is also possible.
